Top Vacation Rental Locations in 2023
Being that it is already mid-February (how??!!) it’s probably too late to make goals for 2023, but in any case, we still have em’! My goal this year is to add another property (2 would be nice) to the Piva Casa collection, whether that means purchasing our own or managing a short term rental on behalf of someone else (if you are looking to hire us to manage your short term rental, be sure to check out our services page).
I’ve been researching different cities and states for about a year now, trying to gather as much information as I can as to where the perfect spot for another family friendly short term rental could be. Through my search, I found an article from AirDNA titled, Best Places to Invest in U.S. Vacation Rentals in 2023. Below is a list of the cities they pointed out based on rental demand (how often rentals are booked), revenue growth, investability (expected income relative to the cost of buying it) and regulation (likelihood of increased regulation in the future ie cities limiting or removing STRs). I have to say, I was a little surprised with this list (maybe it was due to the fact that I have been to 0 cities on the list, ha)!
Have you been to any of these US cities or would you ever be interested in visiting any of them? Who knows, your responses may help us narrow down our next location! Feel free to respond in the comment section below or via our Instagram post…

Piva Casa part of 12 Best Airbnb Rentals
Piva Casa named 12 best airbnb rentals in Lake Arrowhead, CA
Our first bit of PR and we are so excited! Online travel blogger, Territory Supply, just named us part of their 12 Best Airbnb Rentals in Lake Arrowhead, CA.
Within the article, they stated…
Pack your family up for a memorable vacation at this hidden gem beneath the trees. While it’s tucked away enough to feel like you’re removed from most neighbors, the happenings of town are only a 10-minute drive away. This home offers a space specifically for children with bunk beds, books, and toys, plus a crib provided for little ones. If you visit in the winter, be prepared do some snow shoveling – but your reward is pristine winter views of fresh white snow on green pines. Nice.
And we couldn’t agree more with everything they mentioned! Our cabin truly is catered towards families with children and we try to make it as kid friendly as possible. We’re glad other people are noticing our efforts!
It Started with a Boat.
It started with a boat
Hi I’m Amanda Pivovaroff, wife, mom of 4 littles (ages 7, 4, 2 and 3mos) and owner of Piva Casa. Piva Casa is a collection of stylish kid friendly vacation rentals. Unlike many other vacation rentals, Piva Casa homes cater to families and each home is setup to be more accommodating for parents with small children.
Little back story of how this business venture started. It was March 2020 and we were vacationing with our 3 kiddos at the time and our friends at their family cabin in Shaver Lake, CA. Suddenly my husband yelled from across the room, “well looks like I got the boat”! Turns out he had bid on a boat on an online auction site (without seeing it in person) and he was the highest bidder. This boat was a great deal, or so we thought…
In the long run, the boat ended up costing us a fortune! After being delivered to us from Texas, we realized it needed a brand new motor. Got the motor, spent the summer at nearby lakes and realized there weren’t too many local lakes around us. I googled nearby lakes and Lake Arrowhead popped up. A private lake only 1hr 15min away from us, what a dream! We spent the day there that Labor Day (September) and from than on we knew we wanted a vacation home there. After going through a market filled with all cash over ask offers & bidding wars we finally found the cutest vacation home nestled in the woods! Realizing there was no physical way we can be there every single weekend, we decided to rent it out and share our hidden gem with guests like you. It was than that Piva Casa was a born - and to think it all started with a boat.
